Austin, TX, USA—December 4, 2013 — Firecomms is pleased to announce that U.S. plastic optical fiber (POF) distributor FiberFin has added the company’s line of LC and RedLink® POF transceivers and cable assemblies to its product portfolio, enabling customers to quickly and easily order sampling, prototyping and production launch quantities of Firecomms OptoLock, LC and RedLink transceivers and cable assemblies.
Already a distributor for Firecomms unique OptoLock transceivers, which allow for extremely fast field termination due to its plugless interface, FiberFin now will carry Firecomms’ full line of RedLink and LC products. All Firecomms products are available on FiberFin’s new on-line store on its updated website (www.fiberfin.com).

Firecomms LC transceivers, with solutions for a range of applications, including power, industrial, medical, transportation and home networking, offer a 66% reduction in footprint when compared to SFP-based solutions. Housed in the company’s LC sockets, Firecomms’ LC products are designed to work with either POF or Hard Clad Silica (HCS) fibers for distances up to either 50m or over 100m making these transceivers ideal solutions for use in networking factory floor equipment, wind tower communications, and other industrial applications.
